FSBCW LEADERSHIP

Pastor Josh Hitchcock

I am originally from Lilburn, Georgia a suburb east of Atlanta, Georgia. While growing up in church and accustomed to hearing the gospel, the Spirit of God opened my eyes to understand my sinfulness and my need for salvation through faith in Christ at a 7th grade youth camp. While I always heard the good news about the death and resurrection of Jesus, I never knew why I needed to trust in it until that day. I played saxophone in the high school marching band, and I played guitar leading our youth group praise band. I initially went to college at Brewton Parker College in Mount Vernon, Georgia  to major in music, but I began to grow in my love for God’s Word and God began to call me to preach. Later his calling on my life was confirmed to pastoral ministry. I moved to Kentucky to pursue seminary at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. I shortly met the woman who would become my wife, Allison. We have been married since June 13, 2009, and adopted our daughter in 2019. We fostered close to 30 children over 10 years, prior to answering God’s call to pastor First Southern Baptist Church of Wickenburg. I have preached and served in a variety of ministry roles in Georgia, Kentucky, Indiana, and now Arizona!
